Day 8 - paperwork

• Registered with the electricity company.
• Registered with the gas company.
• Registered with the waste collection company.
• Signed up for broadband.
• Booked a gas engineer to service the boiler, check the gas installation, remove the dodgy-looking gas fireplace in the back room and advise on how we might be able to connect a gas range cooker in the future.

I long for the days of dependable, publicly-owned utilities companies. So much time is being wasted having to go through all the different yet identical options on the market.
