Day 10 - A geek's DIY dream
Last night I dreamt that the six year old and two year old had solved our crumbling plaster walls problem. In my dream they showed me how they simply cut the crumbling plaster from the wall and pasted it into a Word document, where they ran a kind of wallchecker that repaired the plaster. Once it was fixed, they showed me how to cut and paste the plaster back in place.
In my dream I was amazed at their ingenuity and delighted we'd a DIY solution to our problem - and off we set, cutting and pasting our plaster from wall to Word and back, transforming the house.
When I woke I felt amused at how my poor tech-addled brain can only come up with software solutions to what is a very real world problem. If only it could be that simple...
